U9 & U11 Children Program Season 2025/2026

MISSION: Putting individual player development and progression at the center, helping our players fulfill their ambitions, both athletically and academically, while challenging them to perform at levels where they can compete internationally allowing them to gain access to higher education or professional football at levels beyond their current reach.

U11 Gold Team 22/23 Season

Program Description - Formative Years

Football can simplistically be said to be a combination of;

  • basic technical skills: passing, trapping/receiving, shielding, dribbling, shooting,
  • application of those skills in position specific roles and responsibilities on the field,
  • application of physical attributes like speed, strength and power, and
  • development of creativity and decision making associated with putting all of this together at the right time, with the right solution, but with the right moment of surprise.

For the U9 and U11 groups the majority time must be spent on developing the basic skills of each player, creating a relationship with the ball, and learning the basic patterns of movement and ball protection. All set in an inspirational atmosphere and with every session ending with games and fun activities.This will allow them to gain the necessary tools, knowledge and confidence to master the higher level of football. Think of learning the ABCs before building words and sentences, and in the end putting together a complex thesis.

To continue our quest to align our programs with these principals, the 2025/26 U9 and U11 weekly sessions will comprise of:

  • 2 SKILLS focused development sessions on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday,
  • 1 TEAM and GAME DAY focused session on Friday leading up to the matches on Saturday.
  • 1 INDOOR Game every Saturday afternoon at BHS Gym, to provide an outlet for more game like activities in a safe and controlled environment away from any stress or spectators. As you know league games gets cancelled and the weather can be less than desirable, this way every Saturday will finish with what the players love.

The In-Season Program will run during the first two school terms, from early September to end of March.

The Post-Season Program will run the last school term from early April to end of June.

Each player must register for the In-Season Program. The Post-Season Program is optional, however if the player aspires to progress to our U13 and U15 programs, Post-Season is a requirement.
