Foundation Programme 2024/25

The Foundation Programme is for boys and girls aged 4-7, designed by our Technical Director Andrew Bascome, our B Licence Coaches and the late Jacques Crevoisier, Senior Director in the UEFA Technical Department and ex-national coach for France, in charge of grassroots football implementation in 55 UEFA countries.

Our objective is for young players to develop a relationship with the ball, with their team mates, and to gain motor skills and football awareness through fun activities and small sided games.

This helps young players to be confident and to interact with other participants. It’s also a great opportunity for the children to make friends.

Andrew Bascome will lead the sessions supported by student coaches and parent volunteers.

UNDER 5 FOUNDATION

For Players Born in 2019 or 2020

  • 4 year olds: Focusing on basic movements and coordination.
  • 5 year olds: Focusing on the introduction to ball mastery.
  • Kit will be provided (this includes jersey, shorts and socks). Football boots and shin guards are NOT mandatory.

Location: Saltus Grammar School field or Goose Gosling Field at BAA, Woodlands Road, Hamilton

Time: Saturday’s at 9am – 9:45am:

Fee: $675 for 36 weeks starting in September 2024 and concluding in June 2025, with a Registration Fee of $225 due upon registration, and the remaining paid in September either upfront, in three quarterly installments, or in 10 monthly payments.

Registration: Opens May 30, 2024. Places are highly sought after so recommend registering early to avoid disappointment as numbers are capped.

  • Fall Term: 14th September 2024 – 14th December 2024
  • Winter Term: 11th January 2025 – 22rd March 2025
  • Spring Term: 12th April 2025 – 22th June 2025

UNDER 7 FOUNDATION

For Players Born in 2017 or 2018

  • 6 year olds: Focusing on coordination, agility and ball mastery.
  • 7 year olds: Focusing on getting ready for competitive matches
  • Kit will be provided (this includes jersey, shorts and socks). Football boots and shin guards are NOT mandatory.

U7 Teams: Based on the overwhelmingly positive experience this year with one U7 team entered into the BFA Children's League, and with many of our U7 players starting to show confidence and skills that makes them ready for the competitive aspects of the game, we will field one or two U7 FCB teams for this season for players born 2017, and in special cases for players born 2018. For more information about U7 FCB teams see below.

Children's U7 Teams

If your player is born 2017, or shows the right skills and attitude when born 2018,  and you think he/she is ready for the more competitive aspects of football, please register him/her for this program. We will be holding a  Placement Day for the U7 Teams on September 7, 2024 at BAA,  between 9:00 - 10:00 am. Depending on interest and the results from the Placement Day, our coaches will decide to proceed with one or two U7 FCB team. This will be decided prior to the September 9 start of regular training.

The U7 Teams will train three times a week and play in the BFA League on Saturday mornings. The league is for 7 aside teams. For training schedule please click go to Training Schedule
